Monthly Finance Update #24, 25, 26
All three updates in one : April, May, June Update, 2021.
Hi everyone!
It’s been awhile.
I got way behind doing the monthly reports as I’ve been focusing on getting my business up and running.
I received a wonderful message from ‘Lasse’ who was very interested in knowing when the next monthy update was coming.
As you may be able to relate to; I have thought many times does anyone really read this blog?
So it was really refreshing to hear from ‘Lasse’ and this gave me a motivational boost to keep on going! Thanks Lasse !
It also made me check the analytics and 19,500 unique visitors have visited Thriving Willow in 2021.
So people are finding their way to this blog it seems. Lovely.
Much appreciated and many thanks!

What is this ‘savings account’?
Let’s start off with something you may be wondering: What is this extra money (serious amounts) coming from the “savings account” you might ask?
I’ve been relocating money from previous investments, which was individual stocks and other investments, that doesn’t follow my investment strategy from now on.
This amount is slowly being moved into my global index strategy which means slowly quite a bit has to be moved over.
Love the thought of simplifying my investments into one global index and nothing more.
And thereby following what’s the statistically will give the best rate of return with the least amount of time studying and analyzing the market.
Now that’s cleared up lets move on!
What has happened the last 3 month?
A little tricky to sum up the last three months in a quick update here.
But here goes !
Investments:
The portfolio has increased nice and slow in value as the market has risen the past few months.
I wish I’d thrown more into the market previously but I guess that’s what everybody thinks when looking back, haha.
Lesson learned!
When the next big drop happens I’m putting everything I have in. And of course still investing every month until then. You didn’t think I’d forget the monthly investments did you? 😀
Savings rate the last few months included two months over 60% which was great. Hopefully will be able to keep this up in the future as this really boosts the time needed to allow for compound interest to work its magic!
And lastly look at that graph with the total index amount it looks great! Wish it could keep the same incline as it has had the last few months. Wishful thinking I know but fingers crossed.
Company:
All in all I’m starting to get customers in regards to my Facebook Ads company which I’m proud to be able to create results for. Great feeling!
It’s only when my customers have results and earn off the Facebook ads, that I get paid. Love this business model!
Each pay around 5000+ dkk monthly. So it only takes a few customers to make a decent monthly income. And again only when they have results and profit after all fees that I get paid.
This income is going into the company account and therefore isn’t in these updates.
I’m trying to work out how to incorporate these numbers in the future as it’s going to be my main source of income in the future but at the moment it’s a separate account.
I also managed to experience the freedom of this business model as I was travelling up the west coast of Denmark visiting kitesurfing spots, exploring new places, sleeping in a tent and really actually being on holiday while working a few hours a day on my computer.
This is the end goal in the future and great to feel and experience it being able to work already now!
Job :
I’ve managed to arrange my job at the high school teaching outdoors and basic wood building so it’s eight hours a week on Thursdays and Fridays so nice and intense and effective.
The school offered a more permanent job but I can feel it’s not quite the right set up for me as it would require many extra hours and wouldn’t fit into my current everyday schedule, but always lovely to be offered a job!
I find teaching in these outdoor / hands-on subjects a good combination, so I don’t end up working on the computer all day, all week doing nothing else.
Tiny House progress
Living in a tiny house in summer is great. On the really warm days when it’s 27-28° we’re actually covered by the trees, so in the house is in the shade and it’s actually only 20°.
In winter the leaves fall off and the sun therefore can heat the house up so we are loving the trees and our location at the moment.
Rainwater which we collect and are using our taps is still nice and clean and there’s been no algae problems. Our water tank is on the north side of the house with a cover around it so no sunlight could start this negative progress.
No water bills for the house for a year, lovely! (we shower at work :D)
Electricity bill has been around 150 kroner per month the last seven months which in winter was our only source of heat and of course also light and all electrical appliances.
The only negative part about the location is the lake that increases during the winter. We are working to find a solution to that but otherwise will have to pump it out like we did last winter.
All in all surprised that this location is quite great in summer as we were thinking it was temporary until this summer.
The updates will be written every month this year out. I promise! Now I’ve said it. Here we go !
- Updates on the tiny house build from start to finish will be shared on the Facebook page.
Danish readers can join the group ‘Det Lille Potentiale, Tiny House’.
I hope your savings rate was steady and high this month!
