How was 2019? Goals for 2020

2019 has come to an end. And what an eventful year it has been.

The New Year has always been a time to reflect on the past year and think about whether you’re on the right track towards goals and dreams.

I love this concept and time of year. Here’s my overview of 2019. 

5 Month Honeymoon

This time last year my wife and I were on our 5-month honeymoon and specifically in Laos. A crazy trip filled with experiences and impressions.

So grateful we had the opportunity to travel for this length of time. Highly recommended for your once in a lifetime honeymoon.

Home

This year was also a year filled with different locations as our home. 5 different places and many half weeks living in a room at the new job.

A bit of a sacrifice but hopefully it’s all going to be worth what’s to come!

All year has been working out logistics with our possesions but that’s life. Hopefully, the Tiny House when finished will fix this. 

New Job

It was also this year a job opportunity at a prestigious school arose and I’m working towards this dream job becoming a full-time job.

Teaching young students in the subject Boardsport and more specifically Kitesurfing. What an amazing achievement to complete in 2020. Fingers crossed!

Tiny House Build

And almost the most exciting of course, we had the guts to start our Tiny House build with no previous experience. Still can’t quite belive we are in the midst of a house build. 

But it’s starting to look like a house and I’m pretty sure we’re going to love to live in. Thank god!

Progress New Year 2019

Blog 

The start of this blog was also a huge step towards expanding the Tiny House community in Europe whilst hopefully inspiring others and keeping myself accountable on the path to financial freedom.

This is one of the main goals for 2020 that I am looking forward to working on.

I find it especially interesting reading about other Tiny House stories in Europe in the Meet ‘n’ Greet series. I’ll definitely continue finding more stories to share on the blog. Inspirational!

Blog stats 2019:

• 794 users came to Thriving Willow to read 1100 sessions.

• A whopping 75 % of visitors were using a smartphone. Quite surprising this number is so high. Modern times!

• In 2019 the blog was updated with 2 pages and 9 posts besides the monthly updates. This is going to be improved a lot more now in 2020.

You guys are showing a great interest in Tiny Houses and financial freedom which is kick-starting my motivation for getting serious with the site.

Goals for 2020

• Invest 30.000 dkk  4015 €                       ( 2019  = 30.000 dkk 4015€ )

• Average savings rate over 50 %             ( 2019 = 50,5% SVR)

• Land a full-time job

• Finish the Tiny House build completely

• 8.000 visitors and 10.000 sessions        ( 2019 = 794 visitors and 1.100 sessions)

• 1 post per week                                         ( 2019 = 0,21 posts per week)

All in all a very exciting 2019 and if 2020 is just as eventful it’s going be another crazy year!
